Rooted in Northborough. Guided by Experience.

I didn't choose real estate. Real estate chose me.

As a child I watched my father build our family home from the ground up. Years later our family lost it. That experience is what made me understand what a home really means. Not just financially, but to a family's sense of stability, security, and future.

Those two things together shaped everything about how I work and why I care.

Who I Am and How I Work

I've spent my entire life in this community, and over the years, that history has shaped not just where I work, but how I work and who I work with.

I grew up here watching my father build our family home from the ground up on land that had been in our family for generations. Seeing that home come together showed me at an early age what homeownership truly represents. A home is where life unfolds, where families grow, and for many, it becomes their largest investment.

Years later, my husband, a finish carpenter, and I built our own home just down the road from where I grew up. We raised our children here, spending countless afternoons at Algonquin baseball games and ski races at Ski Ward. Living here allows me to bring real, lived local insight to the people I serve.

Today I work with move-up buyers, downsizers, and homeowners throughout the Boroughs and Central Massachusetts, and because I live here too, I understand the neighborhoods, schools, and subtle market differences that shape every decision.

Over the years I developed the MOVE Method, a structured framework that guides every client through every step of the process. The framework is consistent. The application is specific.

Where Strategy Meets Real-World Experience

Because construction has always been part of my life, I bring a practical perspective to every home and every decision.

Through my husband’s work as a finish carpenter, along with my own lifelong exposure to construction, I help clients understand what improvements truly add value, what preparation matters most before listing, and where additional investment may not make sense.

Whether coordinating a move-up purchase, guiding a downsizing transition, or aligning the timing of buying and selling,my focus remains the same, protecting what my clients have built and making sure every decision moves them forward.

When It Matters Most

— The Situation

After losing his wife the year before, my client was facing the difficult decision to sell the home they had lived in for over 30 years, where they had raised their family.

It was a large colonial filled with decades of memories, and the thought of where to begin, and what needed to be done to prepare the home, left him feeling overwhelmed.

Beyond the home itself, he was also navigating a major life transition and needed steady guidance every step of the way.

— The Strategy

We approached the process slowly and intentionally, creating a clear plan one step at a time.

Together, we walked through the home room by room and built a strategy that felt manageable. We focused on the updates that would make the greatest impact while keeping the process as low-stress as possible.

I connected him with my trusted network of professionals, including a relocation expert to help him decide what to keep, what to pass along, and what to prepare for sale, as well as contractors, cleaners, and an attorney to help support every stage of the transition.

At the same time, I guided him through finding and securing the next place to plant roots, one that felt right for this new chapter of his life.

— The Outcome

What could have been an overwhelming experience became something manageable, and ultimately something he could feel good about.

His home sold for more than he ever expected, and he was able to move forward with clarity and peace of mind.

Most importantly, he did not have to navigate such a major transition alone. He had the right support in place, a clear path forward, and the confidence to begin his next chapter.

"Melissa was excellent all around, helping my family get our home ready for sale and connecting us with great people for packing, painting, moving, and storage. She was a true advocate during what was often a challenging process after over 30 years in our home, and I would recommend her to anyone buying or selling."

Beyond Real Estate

Outside of work I can usually be found skiing with my kids, out on the water with my husband, or traveling somewhere new in search of the next adventure in nature.

The right move isn’t just about the market, it’s about your life, your timing, and what comes next.
